In 1973, in a modest workshop in Baghdad, Asim Alawwad founded Babylon Ducting with one principle: build with integrity, and build to last. A trained sheet‑metal craftsman, Asim began fabricating simple elbows, transitions, and plenums for neighborhood shops and early high‑rise projects.

Through the 1980s and 1990s, the company grew on word‑of‑mouth. Contractors came to trust the consistent gauge, tight seams, and fair lead times. By the late 90s, we introduced spiral pipe lines and standardized fittings, improving airflow performance and installation speed on site.

In the 2000s, the business navigated supply disruptions and complex project demands. Asim’s son, Mohammed, who apprenticed on the shop floor from an early age, stepped into operations leadership. Together they modernized processes, expanded vendor relationships, and invested in safety and quality systems.

Today, Babylon Ducting combines hands‑on craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods. We continue to serve contractors, developers, and facility owners across Iraq and the region with the same promise Asim made in 1973: do the job right, stand behind the work, and deliver on time.
